Ordinance No. 49

 

An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No. 42 Regulating Exhibition Driving Within the City of Badger.

 

 

The City Council of Badger Ordains:

 

            Section 1.  It shall be a petty misdemeanor for any person to:

 

Subd. 1.  Operate a vehicle on a public highway, street, parking lot, alley, or other public property in such manner as to cause the tires to squeal, or the gears to grind or the motor to backfire, except when an emergency creates a necessity for such operation.

 

Subd. 2.  Drive or operate a vehicle on a public highway, street, parking lot, alley or other public property at erratic or irregular and changing speeds or to skid or slide upon acceleration or deceleration or to cause a vehicle to unnecessarily sway or turn abruptly, when any such behavior will create a hazard to the driver himself or other persons or property or interfere with other traffic in the area.

 

            Section 2.  All ordinances and parts of ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Passed and adopted by the City Council this 18th day of August, 1980.

 

The effective date of this Ordinance is the date of this publication.
